Sensitive Skin Care With Honey Soap - Facial Recipe

My Handcrafted Honey Oatmeal Soap

Is spectacular for all skin types, and it is especially terrific for sensitive skin!  I use a great deal of our own raw honey, harvested from our own beehives, in my soap making.  Each bar averages between one and two teaspoons of that honey.  In addition, there is glycerin, buttermilk, vitamin E and pure essential oils.  Use it to cleanse twice daily, and before any home facial mask treatments.

Mix Your Soothing Mask
First, place your favorite toner or witch hazel in the refrigerator to chill.

About The Facial Mask
This mask contains soothing oats, cleansing and softening buttermilk whipping cream, along with skin smoothing yogurt. The cucumber adds a fresh quality that helps relieve redness and adds aromatherapy benefits.  In short - it's all good.

Facial Mask Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup steel cut oats (instant works but not as well)
4 tablespoons plain Greek style yogurt – whole, not reduced fat or fat free
3 tablespoons buttermilk
3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
1 cucumber, whole
Use organic products as much as possible when making skin care treatments at home.

Mix Your Mask
Put the oats in a blender or food processor and grind them to a powder. Add the buttermilk, whipping cream and yogurt.  Cut the cucumber in thin cubes and add them. Blend until you have a consistently smooth paste that that is thick enough to use as a mask without running. If it is not thick enough, add more oats.

Preparing Your Skin
Thoroughly cleanse your face, neck and decollete, with my handcrafted Honey Oatmeal Soap and work in the lather with the pads of your fingers, using light, circular motion for one full minute. Rinse with slightly warm water. Pat dry.

Spread the mask gently and equally with your fingertips onto your clean skin, including the face, neck and decollete.

Lie down, relax and leave the mask on for 20 to 25 minutes.

Rinse it off with slightly warm water using a soft wash cloth, and end with several cold splashes. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel.

Finally apply your chilled toner, then serum and moisturizer to seal in the nourishment your facial treatment gave your skin.

Do this one to three times per week. Enjoy great-feeling skin!
