Can You Really Laugh At Your Age?

Laugh At Your Age
In some ways, yes, you can laugh at your age. But not a critical, sarcastic kind of laugh. A real one. A happy laugh.
I recently read an article about Christie Brinkley (a fav of mine) who turned 68 within the last week or so. She touched on the subject of age, and how it's for many people the last "allowed" way to make fun of others. This practice of pointing at older women (especially women, let's face it) and calling them names is rude, ignorant and downright mean.
Things Are Getting Better
Times are changing though. I've never been a fan of Gwen Stefani, however, I am coming to admire her more and more. She's past 50. Still rocks pig tails and very short skirts. I say good for her. If it fits your body and your lifestyle - why the heck not?
My mother told me many times, when she reached 85, that a woman, or man for that matter, should never call themselves "old" before their time. Because, she explained, one day we will wake up and be 85 - and that's truly "old". Up until then, a person really is not terribly old.
Take care all!
