The Iris Braided Sandal is really a must have for Summer 2023. It comes in lots of colors, and is one of the most comfortable heels I have ever bought. And....at $39 it does not break the bank - so buy it in more than one color, why not?
Comfort is A Must
I am no longer going to stay in quiet misery wearing shoes that are killers. Especially the ones that come with that hefty price tag!
Dunes is a brand I have come to know and love. It's one of my favorites and surely one of my favorite heel options.
Gone Back To My 20s
I worked in Manhattan in the 80s, and I was fresh out of college in my early twenties, I believe that's when I started being something of a fashion trendsetter.
Back then, us girls all wore 2 inch heels, to maybe 3 inch at the highest. I remember the older ladies (you know, the ones who were my age back then lol) saying that we were wearing "Marilyn Monroe pumps." And that's very true. Surely we did. And when I look at old flicks I see Marilyn, along with Audrey (Hepburn), Jane (Russell), and Lauren (Bacall), all wearing pumps that look to be about 2 inches in height. We were in beautiful company!
And so now, at 66, I have been looking at 2 to 3 inch heels as my go-to. I love them. I find them very easy to walk in, and when I want a bit dressier look, my heeled sandals or pumps are my favorites.
