Light Affects Photos Big Time - See What I Mean - Wow!
How Light Affects Photos
You are standing there, smiling, feeling terrific, and ready to have your picture taken. It's a party. You're relaxed and enjoying yourself. And then it happens.....
You see the photo. And it's awful. And it's posted on social media! Wow!
Light affects photos in some great ways - and some not so great ways. You can look 20 years older in one photo than you do in another. That's not necessarily an exaggeration. Side by side, it can look very much like mother and daughter.
You Hate It Big Time
But you do need to watch where you are taking your photos. If you watch my video, you'll see me in photos that were taken in the same room, same day and time. Except in some I'm in front of the windows. Others I have my back to the windows.
The difference is that when I'm facing the light you can clearly see my face. Which is fine since I'm wearing a bit of makeup. But if I were not wearing makeup, had a sleepless night (not so uncommon with autistic son in the house) or the flu, etc., I may not look very nice.
The Bottom Line
Put light behind you, unless you're sure of your makeup (and that you have it applied perfectly), and have gotten a normal night's sleep!
