Nancy's What's For Supper Sunday Cooked Tomatoes EASY
Cooked Tomatoes Are Easy
For sure. And worth the time - which frankly isn't all that much, either!
I love the flavor of my own homemade cooked tomatoes. I've used many different varieties, large and small, very ripe and somewhat green, and they all come out great.
What's For Supper
Whether it's Sunday, Monday or any day, taking a bit of time to make healthy food is the right thing! Keeping a jar of these tomatoes in your refrigerator allows you to keep your options open for a fast and still healthy dinner.
Pasta with tomatoes and freshly grated cheese is always a hit in my house. Add meat or fish? Sure, why not. Salad is a nice side, as are cooked green beans, asparagus, zucchini and the list goes on and on. There are so many possibilities when you start out with a jar of cooked tomatoes.
Try Pizza
You can keep it simple with store bought crust or make your own from scratch, whatever you prefer. Cheese? Of course! Veggie toppings? Always fantastic! Meat? Why not? Fish? Hmmmm.....I like fish on top but most others prefer shrimp or crab or maybe even clams.....Whatever you choose I really don't think you can go wrong!
Kids will love making pizza at home! Big kids, little kids, it doesn't matter. Everyone loves pizza and putting a personal stamp on it makes it all the better!
