Try Something New - Shop IN PERSON!

  

 Wow.  What A Concept! 

For those of us who are old enough to remember when the whole internet business sites took off, which would be the 90s, we pretty much grew into what was a new way of shopping.  This was good, very good in fact, for many years.  

Why This Was Good 

Shopping online gave us access to every single item in a company's inventory.  That was first ever for most consumers.  And how great that was!  We didn't have to run from store to store to store to find exactly what we wanted.  All we had to do was "search" and there it was.  

Why It Was Not Good 

We became dependent on something we had absolutely no control over.  Companies started out back in the early days promising us lots of benefits.  Free shipping.  Even free overnight shipping in some cases.  And then there were the free gifts, and bonus points and reward dollars.  The gosh darn stuff just came right on a'comin'!  Until, it stopped.  Nowadays there are fewer and fewer great buys online that come with freebies.  Not to mention that free shipping means your items go on a slow train that was probably built in the 19th century. 

It Has Had It's Day 

That's the long and short of it.  Online shopping is becoming boring.  And quite frankly the deals are just not out there anymore.  Oh sure, if you want to buy on the cheap and don't mind off brands there's plenty to be had, however, you can get the same at bricks and mortar discount stores and outlets.  

Time For Something New 

And the joy of shopping in person surely does feel brand new.  The stores, with their clever displays, beautiful decor, soft music, fun, lights, helpful sales staff (oh yea they are out there) is so much better than simply pressing "add it to my cart" on a website.  

One More Thing 

When we shop in person we are not only getting a special treat that makes us wonder why the heck we ever got so hung up on websites, it boosts the local economy.  Especially when we support the mom and pop stores.
